Danbury, CT Wedding Photography | Sean + Lindsay

There was a lot of love and planning that went into Sean and Lindsay’s wedding. For starters, the reception was being held at her parent’s house so there was of course the endless preparations to make the grounds look immaculate (which it did!). There were also the many little details of a wedding that to an outsider seem like they just happen, but to those directly involved with the wedding is a ton of time and hard work to pull off. One such detail for this wedding (and there were several!) was the very well thought out wedding favors of S’mores in a box which were hand assembled by Lindsay, her family and her bridal party. It was all so perfect and beautiful from the gorgeous bouquets compliments of Floral Designs by Nancy, to the hair and makeup courtesy of Dawn’s Pizazz and right on down to some of the cutest flower girls we’ve ever seen!

In any wedding day, there are always some things that don’t go according to plan. The real key for any couple is to remember the purpose of the day, who you are sharing it with, and to adapt to, accept or even ignore some of those unexpected occurrences. Sean and Lindsay did a wonderful job of going with the flow on their wedding day and enduring even a tornado warning to still have a blast and enjoy their wedding.

Throughout the whole day, Sean and Lindsay were really looking forward to relaxing and having a lot of fun at their reception which was held in the backyard of Lindsay’s family home. With the delicious food from Ripka’s Bull’s Head Market and the sounds coming from the DJ’s of Jimmy Dee Music, the setting was just right to keep everyone satisfied throughout the night. There was not enough rain in the universe to put out the fire that was roaring beneath the tent on this night! Though it did make for a very sloppy and muddy mess. Great wedding vendors know how to deal with the unexpected as well and the catering staff sprung into action to lay down trays, folded up tables or whatever they could so guests could navigate the swampy, water-logged grass. In the end, a wonderful couple was married and everyone had a joyous time celebrating with them!

Lindsay’s late grandmother’s ring was a special heirloom for her on her wedding day. As a wedding gift, a coworker of Lindsay’s had done a caricature based off of one of the photos we captured during their engagement session. Not only was this a cool idea, but they did an amazing job with it! When it’s pouring outside you have to think creatively to get different shots. Had it not been raining the garage probably wouldn’t have been considered for portraits, but it worked out well. Special thanks to the most amazing, cool + calm mother of the bride for holding the umbrella for us so we could get this image! One of the highlights of the night for Rachel was running into what appeared to be her beloved grandma’s long lost twin. Rachel’s grandma passed away earlier this year and this sweet lady reminded both of us of her with her looks, her personality and her dance moves!

Sean and Lindsay, it is our hope and prayer for you that your life together would closely mimic your wedding day. May you roll with the unexpected surprises and be having so much fun together that the party just keeps going, and going, and going…!
