After just photographing her sister, Jenna’s, wedding a few weeks before, we were excited to see Tiffany and her family again for her and Jason’s wedding. They are one of the most sweet and genuine families we have had the privilege of encountering in our many years in the industry. We had been looking forward to this wedding literally from the moment we initially met with them at their consultation because they chose to have their wedding at a venue we really wanted to have the opportunity to photograph in – The Society Room in Hartford! Take the beauty and elegance of The Society Room, combine it with some time at City Hall and Bushnell Park for the wedding party shots, and throw in some picture perfect New England fall weather and you have a recipe for a great wedding day.
Tiffany had a very clear picture of what she wanted to do on her wedding day and it was full of beauty and elegance. She had mapped out the perfect plan and timeline to make it all happen. Both her and Jason’s families went out of their way to make this day turn out exactly how she had planned. A 15 passenger van was lined up so the bridal party, the two photographers and even the two dogs could be transported all over downtown Hartford to hit all of the sites on her list. She chose to do a first look so that she could see Jason and take care of as many pictures as possible before the wedding thus freeing them up to have more time with their guests after the wedding. She wanted to do the first look at City Hall and you really can’t pick a bad place anywhere in City Hall, but the spiral staircase made the perfect backdrop for Tiffany and Jason to see each other for the first time. From there, we headed to nearby Bushnell Park where we had a view of the Capital Building in the distance. Tiffany had timed it perfectly so the natural light was just spectacular when we arrived.
The main attraction of the day was of course The Society Room. It is such a sophisticated and classy venue with a lot of unique details and character to it. The staff at The Society Room are very organized and professional in taking care of all the details so the bride and groom can focus on celebrating their special day and having fun with their guests. Since the building used to be a bank, they still have an authentic vault which we took advantage of for a few photos. Tiffany’s mom took care of putting together a lot of the details of the day including the flowers, the centerpieces, and even a bunch of sparklers so the guests could give the couple a proper send off. Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating the marriage of this sweet couple and we felt like kids in a candy shop capturing it all.
Jason and Tiffany, thanks so much for letting us have the privilege to cover your special day. All of the planning and details you put into your wedding day made for an awesome day. May you put just as much time and attention into the little things that will make your life together as husband and wife be just as awesome!
