Hey everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by our new blog! We are very excited about our new business identity. This is something I have been dreaming about for over a year now and it is finally happening. To read a more detailed description of how we came up with our new name as well as ins and outs of our business, please go to our website 47moments.com and click on the “history” link under the “info” tab.
I desired to rebrand Rachel Henderson Photography into a more distinct look with a new name because it has become larger than just myself. My dear husband, Brian, does so much to help me with this business. He keeps me organized and manages all the details so I can focus on what I love and do best, taking photographs and editing them. I couldn’t do any of my work without his valuable help, so I thought it was only fair to make that known to everyone! Over time, he has assisted me on many photo shoots and learned a lot about capturing great moments with the camera. We’re excited to start highlighting more of his work right here.
I would like to thank two of the most wonderful and amazingly talented graphic designers I know… Grant and Rachel Stewart. Without their help, 47 Moments wouldn’t exist. They helped brainstorm and rework the logo and look of 47 Moments over and over. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out and how it will reshape our business.
I would also like to thank another incredible friend and outstanding artist, Bryn Gillette. A few months ago we sat down with him and shared our passion to take our business to the next level. A little over a month ago I received a phone call from him informing me of an open space at Windows Cafe and asking if I was interested in having an art show. It has been a dream of mine to do exactly that for the past several years so without hesitation I accepted. With that, Brian and I set out on this amazing, whirlwind journey of narrowing down literally thousands of photographs to 200 then down to ironically 47 to be hung in the show. It was a huge team effort which included ordering supplies, creating and printing promo materials, manual labor and numerous late nights/early mornings in order to even make the show happen. The work is finally up (and will be through the end of the year). We are having an opening reception tonight, Friday, October 30, 7-9pm, at Windows Cafe (inside Walnut Hill Community Church), 156 Walnut Hill Road, Bethel, CT. We will be talking about the show’s theme “Of Worth and Value” as well as enjoying some yummy treats and good conversation. We would be thrilled if you could stop by to share a few moments of your time with us. It doesn’t cost anything and kids are welcome. If you aren’t able to make it, please feel free to check it out another time or get in touch with us and we can set up a time to let you in. I will post some images of the work in the space soon, so be sure to check back!
Here is one of my favorite images of Grant and Rachel during a portrait session last winter.
This is Bryn with his precious family last fall. This is also one of the showcase images of the show.
