This was a day that Ryan and Jillian had been looking forward to for a long time. We first met them nearly two years ago for an engagement session and after many years together and much anticipation leading up to this event, their wedding was finally here! The boy from Jersey and the girl from Maine split the difference and settled on picturesque New Haven, CT, for their wedding vows. Storm clouds gathered all over the state that day, but the sun managed to shine around this special gathering where Ryan and Jillian became husband and wife. It all went right for this beautiful couple, including a big win for their horse in the Preakness Stakes just moments before the ceremony began. Everything managed to fall right into place just as it should for a person’s wedding day. Carisa and her team at CR Socials were on hand to ensure that every detail was taken care of and that everyone made it where they needed to be at the right time.
Jillian and her bridesmaids got together in the coastal town of Madison at the house of a friend. The guys met up at Pardee Park along the waterfront in New Haven. Everyone was so relaxed and in good spirits. There was a lot of laughter and joking that took place which set the tone for the entire day. You could just see the happiness in everyone’s face about what was taking place.
After everyone was ready, the party headed to Amarante’s Sea Cliff in New Haven. The ceremony was held outdoors along the water. Passing boats joined in the jubilee by honking their horns from afar. Once the festivities were completed and the sun had set, everyone headed inside to enjoy the delicious Amarante’s food and dance the night away to the sounds of John Saville Entertainment.
The brilliant colors from the bouquets and the girl’s dresses were so much fun to photograph.

One of many outbursts of laughter enjoyed throughout the day. This one was the result of a passing boat interrupting their vows by honking his horn.
Instead of lighting a unity candle, Ryan and Jillian chose to symbolize their coming together by combining sand from two glasses into one. Each of their mothers had also poured some in before the bride and groom completed the task.
You would have never known there were storms all around us by the gorgeous sunset we experienced.
Can you see the relief and relaxation in Jillian’s face knowing that Ryan was finally her husband?
Just as we finished taking pictures of the bride and groom it began to sprinkle. As we were speed walking to find cover we noticed a gorgeous rainbow directly above Amarante’s. Suddenly the rain didn’t seem to matter anymore and we all stopped to get just a few more pictures. What a beautiful memory to have on your wedding day.

Ryan and Jillian, thanks so much for allowing us to be guests for your special day. If your wedding day is any indication, we see a lot of sunshine and rainbows in your future. May you continue to have fun and laugh together and may your horse always come in.
Special thanks to Megan LaBarbera from Creative Image Collections for helping us with this wedding. We shared a lot of laughter and were inspired by your style and the way you go about photographing a wedding!
