We are constantly telling couples we meet with about wedding photography of the importance of the relational connection between you and your photographer. You’ll be around your photographers almost as much (if not more so) than your own family members so you want to make sure it’s a solid fit. Photographers are also one of the few wedding vendors that you deal with after the wedding is over. When you find the right photographer for you, it can literally be a lifelong relationship as you start your own family, having kids and beginning to make memories and share moments that you want to be preserved in time through the power of a still image.
We love all of our couples, but there just seemed to be a special connection when we met Frank and Niccole from the initial moment we met with them and knew that a special bond had formed. We shared a lot of laughs and just felt really at ease with them for their engagement session back in the fall and we had been anticipating their wedding day for many months. They had spent countless time and energy planning their special day to be a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple, including their love of family, friends, fun, and New York City.
They got ready at the Westin New York at Times Square before heading over to the magnificent St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan for exchanging their vows. It is simply one of the most breathtaking churches in all of the world and it encapsulated the beauty that was present as Frank and Niccole became husband and wife. They had both dreamed of getting married here and had invested a significant amount of time and energy to make it happen. Not even the ongoing restorations could stop them. Since NYC is so special to them, we had to get a few shots around town after the ceremony so we hopped out in Times Square on the way to the reception for a few shots.
The reception was held at Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle, NY, which is nestled right along the waters of the Long Island Sound. The scenery and the perfect, sunny weather combined to create an absolutely idyllic setting for photos. Everything turned out perfectly! Erica and her team from Ambiance Luxe did a masterful job of balancing all of the details that come with a Manhattan wedding that includes transporting all the guests from the church to a reception that is almost an hour away. From the logistics, to the timing, to the intricate details at the reception, they were absolutely fantastic.
What a great start to the 2013 wedding season. We can’t wait to show you more so keep checking back often!
Frank and Niccole, thank you so much for including us in your special day! May your life together be full of happiness and joy as you continue to make each other laugh. You have a special warmth as a couple and we hope that you will continue to glow for the world to see!
