Caitlin had been waiting her whole life to begin her happily ever after. It didn’t matter if it was 95 degrees outside with 99% humidity, she beamed with happiness all day long. As she got ready, she was surrounded by a group of bridesmaids who all helped her make sure she looked her best. She had a gorgeous dress to make her look and feel like a princess and nothing was going to stop this day from being magical as she would finally be marrying her prince charming, Andrew.
The ceremony was held at Newtown Congregational Church and had many unique touches including a special address from the couple who mentored them as they prepared for marriage as well as a musical number by the groom’s brother. Since they met while attending college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Carolina baby blue color became a centerpiece for the clothing worn by the bridal party. For the girls it was Carolina Blue dresses while the guys had a mixture of navy and Tar Heel Blue in their ties.
The reception was held at the mother of the bride’s home. It was a perfect setting for an intimate celebration of this couple’s new life together. The cocktail hour was in the front yard with the reception under a tent in the backyard. The grounds were beautiful and as the sun went down and the heat of the day subsided, the party heated up! Blue napkins filled the air (instead of ringing glasses) as a unique and fun way to have the couple kiss throughout the evening. It is always special to see the bond between a father and his daughter. Caitlin’s dad gave a very moving toast to the couple before an equally touching moment as he and Caitlin danced to a recording of Caitlin singing the song “Butterfly Kisses” from when she was a young girl.
The team from DK Productions kept the dance floor hopping well into the night. In addition to doing amazingly beautiful flowers, the team from Party Perfect put out an incredible spread of food, especially the dessert table which was a hit with all of the guests! In lieu of a wedding cake, Caitlin chose to have cupcakes from In the Mix in Newtown, CT. It was a party to remember and Caitlin finally got her happily ever after!
Andrew and Caitlin, thanks so much for giving us the pleasure of sharing in your happiness. May you continue writing a beautiful fairy tale together as you start your new lives together!
