Nate and Lauren had been together for a long time – 7 1/2 years to be exact. They were definitely ready to be married! We had the privilege of being invited to the rehearsal dinner for this wedding which was held at Tarrywile Mansion in Danbury. and really enjoyed the chance to hear more about the couple and the many memories and moments that had brought them to this point in their lives. One of the best moments of course was the proposal which our friends Rob and Kathleen were able to so eloquently capture. (Check out the story and pictures here!) The thing that struck us the most about this couple and what seemed to be a theme throughout both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding was the concept that not only were Nate and Lauren joining together as husband and wife, but that two families were coming together as one. It’s one thing when you get along with your in-laws. It’s another thing entirely when both sets of in-laws get along and spend time with each other. With that said, this celebration was much bigger than just a wedding. It was a birth of a whole new family that would now be twice as large and twice as special as it was before.
Nate and Lauren wanted to do a first look where they would see each other before the wedding. Though obviously not the traditional option, this is becoming more and more popular in the wedding industry. We personally love it because it is a very intimate and special moment and when no one else is around, the couple feels a lot more comfortable to just be themselves and let their true emotions come out. It’s also a great way to set aside a good amount of time earlier in the day for pictures so the couple can enjoy themselves more fully after the wedding ceremony without feeling pressured or rushed.
After making it official with their “I do’s” at the altar, the party kicked off and let me just say that I don’t think anyone was prepared for the jubilation that ensued. Every single person was excited about this new union and they let it show as they lit up the dance floor at the Aqua Turf Club to the sounds of the Clark Eno Orchestra. We’ve had the privilege of working with Clark Eno’s crew a few times before and they are hands down one of the best live wedding bands around! What else can we say except that it was a ton of fun as you will see in the photos.
Nate & Lauren, you make a beautiful couple and we know that this is really only the beginning of your incredible journey together. We can only wish for you that the richness you have found with each other and both of your families only continues to grow and deepen as time goes by. Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of capturing your entire wedding weekend!
