Southbury, CT Portrait Photography | Picard Family

Many factors come into play when setting up an outdoor photo shoot. One of them being light. We took into consideration the time of day and checked the weather as we always do, but you can never predict what will happen. To our delight, this special morning unfolded better than we could have even hoped. We met up with the Picard family at Kettletown State Park, in Southbury, CT. As we stepped out of the car we were instantly hit by the muggy heat and thick air. So, instead of starting our photo shoot at the beach, we decided to explore the relative comfort of the woods. While walking under the tall trees, which offered some shade, we felt the temperature drop. The fog was quickly lifting and the sun bursting through the trees. Several times we had to stop and marvel at the beauty around us. We couldn’t imagine more perfect subjects, other than AJ, Mirjam, Lucas and Joshua to be photographing among such beauty. It felt like a fairy tale. To the Picards: We love you very much and enjoyed spending the morning with you. So glad we were able to make this happen.
