Southbury, CT Wedding Photography | Ryan + Jennifer

We photographed Ryan and Jennifer’s engagement session last September in New York City. It has been awesome getting to know them more deeply in the months that have passed since then. From our initial consultation with Ryan and Jennifer, it was clear that they had a ton of creative ideas and many little details that they wanted to weave into their wedding day. It was so exciting to see their dreams and visions become reality and to have the honor of capturing it all through the lenses of our cameras. A major theme throughout was renewal and growth. They chose to represent this in their wedding through the choice of flowers and the involvement of landscaping and gardening elements. Ryan even got permission for us to use the incredibly gorgeous grounds of Pine Meadow Gardens where he had previously worked while studying for a future career in landscaping. These private gardens were the perfect backdrop to represent the newness of life they were entering into as husband and wife. Peonies were also a major theme in the day and were incorporated into everything from the invitations to the bouquets and table cards. A unique element of their ceremony involved the splicing of two peony trees, a white one to represent her family and a red one to represent his. The newly formed tree would produce pink peonies. In tandem with this visual representation of their newly formed union, the color pink was also incorporated into the bridesmaids dresses and the grooms men’s suits. They truly thought of everything when it came to the details and it all so vividly showed their individual personalities as well as their identity as a couple. You would have thought it had been orchestrated by a professional wedding planner, even though they did it all on their own. Not only was this day stunningly picturesque, but it was also a ton of fun. The DJ did an excellent job of managing the excitement on the dance floor and Ryan and Jennifer’s friends and family knew how to have a good time. There are so many things we could tell you about this wedding, but we will let the images take over from here.

There just happened to be this old church building directly across the street from the church they got married in.

Ryan and Jennifer, it has been an immense honor and pleasure to be a part of your engagement and wedding. We have thoroughly enjoyed every moment we had with you. You know how to plan, you know how to have fun together and you know how to love. We wish you all the best in this new phase of life and look forward to the future beauty that you will create together as husband and wife.
