We love a wedding that has a lot of strategically planned and placed details. Karolina did an incredible job planning her wedding day. To the common observer, it appeared to have been put together by a team of professional wedding planners. In reality, it was all put together by Karolina with the help of a few friends and family members. She had a vision of what she wanted and she went to great lengths to see her vision come to life. It was breathtaking and stunning and by far one of the best DIY weddings that has ever been pulled off! From the invitations she created herself, to the customized cake topper handpainted to look exactly like the bride and groom, to the seamless flow of her colors, to the wedding rings and Karolina’s earrings that were handcrafted by her father, to the 1,000 paper cranes folded by Karolina, this wedding had it all and there was not one detail that went overlooked. Even the weather cooperated perfectly and the day was timed perfectly to allow for the best sunlight a person could imagine while taking the photos of the wedding party.
Mike and Karolina’s wedding was held at the oldest Catholic church in New Jersey – St. Joseph Church in West Milford. Karolina’s father read one of the Scripture passages in Polish as a symbol of her family’s roots. The reception was a scenic 30 minute drive to the gorgeous Ballyowen Golf Club in Hamburg. In addition to the venue being beautiful and the food delicious, the staff at the Ballyowen were among the most friendly, professional, and organized a couple could ask for. Karolina put together a wish tree for guests to leave notes for the couple on. She even had real acorns in the vase for the wish tree that were transported in from upstate New York.
The reception hall was immaculate with a ceiling full of white and yellow paper lanterns, a backdrop of paper cranes (also white and yellow) hung on strands behind Mike and Karolina’s table, and an old window used to show the table assignments among the highlights of the decor. The dancing was early and frequent throughout the night as many of the guests showed off their dance moves. Mike and Karolina were at the center of the dance floor for most of the night.
This was one of the best weddings we’ve been privileged to have been a part of over the years but enough of the words…the pictures speak for themselves!
Mike and Karolina, it was an immense honor to photograph your wedding and have creative reign. You are such a beautiful couple and we had an absolute blast sharing in the artistic beauty of your day. The heavens were definitely smiling down on you both as you joined as husband and wife and our wish for you is that they continue to do so for each day of your marriage!
